Pine buds are rich in resins, essential oils, boleritin, turpentine, pinicycrine, tannins, they also contain a lot of ascorbic acid and mineral salts.

Infusions of pine buds are a good diuretic and expectorant. They are used during various edema of the bladder and dropsy.

Sometimes pine buds are prescribed as inhalation to relieve pain and speed recovery from colds and sore throat.

Apply tinctures of pine buds externally to treat radiculitis, arthritis, certain skin diseases, purulent and deep wounds, as well as burns and skin ulcers.
